Tribute paid to Birsa Munda's chief commander Sardar Gaya Munda

Ranchi: On Saturday, on the occasion of the martyrdom day of Commander-in-Chief of Veer Birsa Munda, Sardar Gaya Munda, tributes were paid to him at the hanged Tungri Hill in present-day Ranchi. Under the auspices of the Jharkhand Tribal Development Committee, many unnamed martyrs including Sardar Gaya Munda, his son Sade Munda and his comrade Sukhram Munda, who was the commander of 12 army leaders and who had the title of Sardar in the Birsa Army, were honored with traditional honours. Tributes were paid as per rituals by worshiping Pahan and gratitude was expressed on behalf of the tribal community by garlanding them.
